Privacy Policy
PTM Gems collects the minimum information needed to sell you jewellery, deliver it and stay in touch about it. This policy explains what that is, what we do with it and what you can ask of us. It applies to this website and to orders placed through WhatsApp with our team.
What we collect
- Order details — name, delivery address, phone number, e-mail, what you bought and what you paid.
- Account details — the same, plus your password (stored only as a one-way hash) and your wishlist.
- Messages — anything you send us by e-mail, WhatsApp, the contact form or a review.
- Technical data — IP address, browser, pages viewed and the pincode you check delivery for; the pincode is kept on your own device, not sent to us.
We do not collect or store card numbers, UPI PINs or net-banking credentials. Payments are handled by the payment provider named at checkout, on its own secure pages.
What we use it for
- To make, pack, ship and track your order, and to answer questions about it;
- To handle returns, refunds and warranty claims, including the unboxing video you send us;
- To send order updates by e-mail, SMS and WhatsApp — these are transactional and cannot be switched off while an order is open;
- To send offers and new-collection news only if you subscribe; every such message has a one-click unsubscribe;
- To detect fraud and to comply with tax, accounting and consumer-protection law.
Who we share it with
Only the people who need it to serve you: the courier (name, address, phone), the payment provider (amount and order reference), our hosting and e-mail providers, and — if the law requires — a court, tax authority or the police. We never sell, rent or trade your data, and we never share it for someone else's marketing.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep your cart and login, a preference cookie for things like the welcome message and your last-used pincode, and basic analytics to see which pages are used. No advertising cookies are set. You can block cookies in your browser; the cart will then not work.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for 8 years as tax law requires. Account data is kept while the account is open and deleted 90 days after you close it. Unboxing videos sent for a return are deleted 90 days after the return closes. Messages are kept for 2 years.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, access to order data is limited to staff who need it, and backups are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever learn of a breach affecting your data we will tell you without undue delay.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time to show you the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it (except records we must keep by law), or to stop marketing messages. Write to e-mail info.ptmgems@gmail.com or WhatsApp / call +91 82877 98048; we answer within 7 working days. If you are unhappy with our answer you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Children
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe a child has given us data, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will post any change here with a new date. Material changes are also announced on the site before they take effect.
